You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TRAINING SPECIALIST at the SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL.
Duties
You will serve as Deputy Director and principal advisor to the Director of Enlisted Engineering on all matters relating to the program of instruction for all Naval Enlisted Engineering courses.
You will provide oversight/supervision to all subordinates in all aspects of curriculum development, maintenance, instruction, and analysis.
You will establish and maintain partnerships with Fleet Forces, Naval Education and Training Command, and applicable Warfare Centers to ensure coordination in adopting and instructing on current and future Fleet training requirements.
You will provide oversight for Formal Course Reviews (FCR), Training Requirements Reviews (TRR), Technical Training Audit Program (TTAP), Board of Visitors (BOV) inputs, and Management Internal Control Programs (MICP).
You will establish staffing procedures to include structure, workload estimation techniques, workforce identification (military and civilian) administrative procedures, and process for planning future objectives.
You will direct implementation of higher-level policies, practices and procedures within the directorate in the areas of operations, curricula development, training delivery systems, and instructional qualifications.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- Periodic travel by air or other means may be required in addition at sea underway work, and aboard naval vessels.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying ship engineering principles and fleet maintenance practices to provide related training and/or develop applicable curriculum; 2) Utilizing design, operation, and repair manuals and job aids to perform, supervise or oversee ship maintenance, damage/emergency control and safety procedures; 3) Using instructional product development/design methods, educational evaluation and computer technology applications to develop, design, review and/or revise instructional material; and 4) Managing program objectives, work processes, performance goals and required resources (e.g., financial, manpower) to ensure adherence to federal laws, regulations and policies.
