You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (Recruitment and Placement) in the Total Force MGMT Program Office (N1) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Duties
You will respond to request for information.
You will gather information and prepare on demand reports for management review and analysis.
You will prepare PowerPoint presentations.
You will maintain Integrity of information and reports in the database and coordinates changes to system requirements with the supervisor and network management/staff.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
For GS-07 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience reviewing internal and external applications received through an announcement or by noncompetitive means for basic eligibility in accordance with the requirements.
Experience answering inquiries from applicants, determining the experience level to advise interested and previously employed federal applicant to advise on employment opportunities.
Experience explaining employment procedures to employees/management.
Experience advises applicants on adequacy of information provided in applications for employment.
Experience reviewing selection certificate to ensure proper adherence to referral categories and merit principles.
Experience assisting with in processing of new employees.
Experience creating oral presentations on assigned external hiring topics that reflect proper planning, organization, and appropriate pertinent information to address the topic, issue or situation.
For GS-05 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Experience processing and documenting HR actions for a wide variety of employee categories that involve different forms, different authorities, different actions codes, and different regulatory authorities or pay systems.
Experience applying human resources concepts, principles, rules, and practices related to identifying, attracting, and referring individuals for placement.
Experience processing operations that provide for the establishment, maintenance, control, protection, and disposition of (HR) records, for efficient reference service, and for retrieval of information and materials.
Experience anticipating and meeting the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-05:
4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
GS-07:
1 full year of graduate level education
or
Superior academic achievement
