Duties
Monitor and track obligations and expenditures for assigned activity accounts on related budgetary forms, schedules, and reports.
Develop, formulate, and revise a segment of the installation's budget request for the upcoming fiscal year.
Prepare a variety of special reports covering the status of funds, expenses, and obligations, as required by higher headquarters.
Enter budget data on related budget and accounting forms.
Manage assigned program in accordance with funding limitations provided on Funding Authorization Documents (FADS).
Verify that obligations and expenditures occur on a timely basis in accordance with the annual work plan and regulatory controls, and are within amounts programmed.
Consolidate the accuracy of budget data estimates by the use of statistical techniques and resolve all budget discrepancies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be willing and able to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 5% of the time.
- Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the Financial Management Level 1 and 2 Certification in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes entering, reviewing, extracting budgetary data utilizing automated systems and/or manual forms and schedules. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: one full academic year of graduate-level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as, Accounting, Business Administration and/or Finance.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience - GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing budget documents, summaries, or reports; reviewing changes in budgets and summarizing changes using appropriate format and terminology; utilizing reports or transactions to compare source documents, or authorizations against transactions to ensure their accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Accounting, Business Administration and/or Finance.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
