You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the INTEGRATED LOGISTICS SUPPORT (ILS) DEPARTMENT of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER SAN DIEGO.

Duties

You will represent the command as the technical expert in shipboard reviews and ensuring proper logistics support is provided to the Fleet. You will assure appropriate material support actions are accomplished for complete ILS support applicable to installation, modification, and /or repair of ships. You will provide complete material configuration and logistics support to Fleet units undergoing CNO Availabilities/Integrated Logistics Overhaul (ILO). You will provide complete functional support in the Material, Configuration, Repair Parts, Planned Maintenance Analysis, and all other specific ILS related to the installation and rip out of installed shipboard equipment. You will collect, analyze, review and create various data and reports in conjunction with the stated assignments for use in evaluating, documenting, and reporting the various ILS support effectiveness and condition of Fleet units. You will track and attempt to resolve Material Outstanding File (MOF) issues for both NSN and open-purchase. This will require engaging with Fleet Logistics Center customers and asset managers.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing configuration and logistical support work which requires applying a broad knowledge of logistics principles, concepts and methods that encompasses a wide range of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functionality applicable to ships undergoing modernization, conversion, and/or repair. Your resume must also show experience providing material configuration and logistics support for shipboard equipment. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Provide Fleet units Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) relating to shipboard equipment; 2) Utilizing Maritime System Environment (MSE) and/or Configuration Data Managers Open Architecture (CDMD-OA) to provide ILS related to the installation and rip out of installed shipboard equipment; 3) Contribute to various data reports needed to analyze the effectiveness and condition of Fleet units; and 4) Assist in analyzing logistics data to determine supply related problems in automated logistics/supply systems such as OneTouch, Haystack, FEDLOG, DOD E-mall, WEBFLIS, ERP, MSE and/or AIM4RMC. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, LL.M, or have completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate level education leading to such a degree. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
