You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the MARINE AND FAMILY PROGRAMS DIVISION of HQ US MARINE CORPS.
Duties
You will provide guidance to commanders on the reporting of casualties.
You will identify eligible recipients of benefits and entitlements.
You will telephonically notify next of kin of the medical status of ill and injured Marines.
You will identify eligible family members for issuance of invitational travel authorizations and assist in coordination of travel.
You will prepare and maintain hardcopy case files, as well as automated casualty records in the Defense Casualty Information Processing System, for injured, ill and deceased service members.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in military human resources management providing policies and procedures on military benefits and entitlements concerning casualties and deceased military personnel.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience you may qualify with the following education:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
