About the Position: The position is located in the Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (PTMS) Department at Madigan Army Medical Center on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Duties
Track the execution of Tasking Orders (TASKORD), Warning Orders, (WARNORD), Operations Orders (OPORD), and Fragmentary Orders (FRAGO).
Develop detailed briefings relative to an event.
Communicate with emergency operations centers to maintain current Situational Awareness (SA).
Recommend decision points based upon new information related to the Director’s Critical Information Requirements (DCIRs), Request For Forces/Requests for Information (RFFs/RFIs), and Friendly Force Information Requirements (FFIRs).
Requirements
- Incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period .

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes receiving and preparing operations orders and tasking(s); monitoring/tracking compliance with command directives for daily operational requirements and exercises; and assisting in managing the emergency operations center (EOC) when mission support is required. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
