About the Position: Serves as a Case Analyst performing a wide range of military record, financial, and medical analytic functions within the Army Board for Correction of Military Records.

Duties

Review general court-martial cases to determine possibility of error or injustice. Review formal applications, and determines adequacy of supporting material. Write a comprehensive summary of the pertinent facts incorporating therein any legal interpretations received. Utilize expert communication skills to ensure that internal and external communications are sound, factual, logical, neutral in tone, and properly convey facts and details in a logical and comprehensive format.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the review of personnel issues pertaining to the correction and/or accuracy of military records; researching and interpreting human resources laws, statues, regulations, procedures, or policies; and providing clear and concise oral and written communication on all aspects of human resources functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: I have successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Experience and Education: Specialized experience as described above, but less than one year; and at least two years of graduate education as described above, but less than the required three years. Compute the percentage of the requirements met, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision SupportInformation ManagementManages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
