About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to perform manpower management duties and responsibilities as well as provide statistical information and analysis that encompasses a wide variety of subject areas.

Duties

Plans, administers, and maintains command manpower management programs which include coordination, preparation, staffing, briefing, submission, and maintenance of the Table of Distribution and Allowances. Provide advisory services to military and civilian management personnel concerning manpower requirements, authorizations, and overall utilization; Keeps abreast of latest manpower development and trends. Provides guidance to staff and personnel involved in Table of Distribution allowances personnel actions. Reviews and provides guidance to personnel involved in the preparation of man-hour and workload data (manpower assessments) to support new resource requirements. Analyzes information gathered to detect deficiencies. Develops and coordinates various programs and systems including work simplification, management improvements, and cost reductions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • FM Certification Level 2 is a requirement for this position. The incumbent will have 1 year to complete course.
  • TDY is expected 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Analyzing personnel or manpower data to determine program requirements; 2) Assessing audit readiness programs to ensure compliance with established procedures; 3) Consolidating risk management data to present briefings to senior leadership; 4) Implementing methods to overcome potential program inadequacies and deficiencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementPlanning and EvaluatingReasoningWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
