You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Comptroller Branch of 6TH MARINE CORPS.
Duties
You will maintain a financial plan for the 9th Marine Corps District (MCD) which provides a record of fund availability pertinent to each account serviced.
You will develop budget forecasts and overhead cost distribution methods between many different accounts and funding sources.
You will participate in the budget preparation process by compiling, consolidating, checking, and arranging funding data in requests.
You will analyze trends and develop reports for information on expenditures such as travel, information technology costs, and reimbursement agreements.
You will serve as the MCD Defense Travel System (DTS) specialist in the set up and maintenance of all aspects of the system and overall functioning of travel for MCD personnel.
Requirements

- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge of budget administration, analyzing and maintaining budget, and cost estimates to support plans, programs and activities, reviews expenditures and tracks obligations, analyzes trends and develops financial reports and maintains all aspects of a travel system.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the position based on education. Education obtained must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To qualify based on education, applicant must possess:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
Applicant can also qualify through a combination of education and experience, which when combined, equals 1 year of specialized experience.
