This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will provide clerical and technical support for accounting, budget, and other related financial management work.
You will assist in the formulation of budgets and cost estimates to support plans, programs and activities.
You will review and evaluate budget requests, control and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
You will analyze financial information and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management for an organization's programs and administrative operations.
You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.
Requirements

- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:Formulating, analyzing and maintaining budgets, financial reports, and accounting records associated with the management and control of resources or funds.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
OR
A combination of education and experience which equals up to 100 percent.
