About the Position:
This position is for Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center (CRDAMC) in the Clinical Operations Division under the Directorate of Resource Management, Managed Care.
Management advised that the rolls of the position may be revised after 90 days as they are reviewing existing job descriptions currently. If changes went into effect, selected incumbent would be advised of changes prior to being moved onto a differnt position description.

Duties
Provide administrative and management support to the Access to Care Manager by advising leadership on requirements, resolving problems, and clarifying regulations associated with assigned functions in a medical center.
Create business proposals or other initiatives that will complement and enhance the conduct of healthcare.
Develop systems to compile and analyze statistical data to assess program effectiveness.
Perform briefings and education on a variety of subject pertinent to the medical center command and staff as needed.
Serve as the TRICARE Online (TOL) manager for the TRICARE Online program at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- Position may be designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- Position may be designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Health System Specialist:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with administrative policies, programs or operations related to health care delivery, utilizing automated systems to enter, retrieve, extract, or analyze data from medical information systems, and briefing or educating on issues related to health care delivery. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
