About the Position: This position is located at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Cavazos, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Desired Experience: Experience with leading healthcare Quality and Safety accreditation and regulatory standards.

Duties

Direct the annual appraisal of the facility-wide Quality Management Program. Oversee the Patient Safety Program, Infection Prevention and Control Program, Performance Improvement Program, Credentialing and Privileging, Risk Management Program, and other programs throughout hospital. Conduct research, review, and analysis of unforeseen, highly complex, issues.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation may be required.
• Selectees may be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
• Immunization screening may be required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Minimum requirement for Supervisory Health System Specialist: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing or managing health care quality/safety programs; monitoring performance, evaluating accreditation/regulatory compliance, and/or preparing reports; and coordinating with leadership on healthcare administrative improvements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
