About the Position: Fort Bragg is known as the "Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces." It is a culturally diverse area with both rural and city populations and is co-located at Fayetteville, NC. It is centrally located just hours away from the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains.

Duties

Issue all materials to the appropriate personnel or group upon delivery. Input stock number, price, source of supply, and other data into supply database. Use commercial programs (primarily Microsoft Office Products) for letters, memoranda, and reports. Maintain suspense file on orders, checks items as received, and supplies information as necessary to close out file. Investigate receiving documents involving discrepancies, such as overages, shortages, substitutes, and non-specification items for source of variance. Modify information stored in the supply system database as needed.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license and any installation, DOD, and or/Federal license required.
  • Obtain and maintain required certifications to operate specific machinery.
  • Required to successfully pass physical examinations as required by Federal and Office of Safety and Occupational Health Administration guides.
  • This position is designated as essential during inclement weather.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Applies Technology to TasksCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes InformationManages Resources Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
