THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Logistics Management Specialist, Position Description Number D1232P02 and is part of the Georgia Army National Guard located at the CSMS - South facility in Fort Stewart, Georgia. This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership. Area of Consideration: Open to current members of the Georgia Army National Guard.

Duties

As a Logistics Management Specialist, GS-0346-11, you will: Serve as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist on all Combat Service Support (CSS) Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Exercise knowledge and oversight for all matters pertaining to the fielding and operation of Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Utilize an extensive knowledge of logistics programs/operations and a clear understanding of automated systems to manage projects and programs for systems integration of CSS automation. Identify funding requirements to support SASMO operations, justifies and submits budget requirements for State operating budget, and executes funds received. Serve as a Systems Administrator for all Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs and as the technical expert within the state/territory responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for serviced Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Review SASMO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are current (i.e., help desk, repair operations, etc.). Evaluate trouble tickets escalated from the help desk, setting priorities on a weekly and monthly basis. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical problems identified in trouble tickets and initial setup of serviced Automated Logistics Information System computers to include loading software, configuring modem and network card(s), assigning Internet Protocol (IP) addresses with correct subnet, connectivity to the network as required, coordinating with other support personnel, and completing technical inspections. Develops programs to ensure software and vulnerability updates are applied in proper order. Coordinate and communicate with Department of the Army (DA), National Guard Bureau (NGB), Program Executive Offices (PEO)/Program Managers of supported systems, regarding CSS operations and automated systems support, problem resolution, software upgrades and change packages. Assist functional users in automated CSS systems management and operation. Serve as the primary point of contact for Functional Administrators and users of the serviced database(s). Administer the day-to-day database operation and maintenance of the serviced database(s). Perform tests to ensure serviced database(s) efficiently collects, stores, and processes data. Evaluate, determine, and initiate corrective action to recover or restore data and return the database(s) to operational status. Resolve issues and problems concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs administrative and systemic work operations. Utilize knowledge of logistics management principles, policies, and procedures to implement, establish, and execute operational plans and policies for Automated Logistics Information Systems. Represent the DCSLOG as the primary POC responsible for the functional implementation and sustainment of varied automation information management systems. Provide direction and guidance to supported CSS Automated Logistics Information System users in the submission of automated systems problem reports and/or change proposals. Establish procedures for the receipt, review, consolidation, and accounting of system problem reports and engineer change proposals (ECPs) submitted from other SASMO personnel and/or CSS Automated Logistics Information System users to ensure subsequent distribution to NGB. Develop and establish programs for administering the receipt, review, validation, distribution, and implementation of all CSS software received in the State, ensuring proper installation, testing and evaluation. Establish and ensure proper maintenance of a CSS resource library and the retrieval and disposal of CSS software. Analyze requirements, establish programs/procedures ensuring effective coordination on CSS automation hardware systems and peripherals pertaining to the receipt, distribution, installation, and life cycle management of devices that are directed to be managed at unit/state level. Perform proper installation, testing and evaluation of CSS systems hardware. Identify maintenance requirements and coordinates/initiate's corrective action. As appropriate, establish a State/Territory CSS automation hardware tactical computer exchange (TCX) (aka equipment float) program and direct the management of the program, ensuring accountability of exchanges. Direct user-level assistance on Automated Logistics Information Systems and Program operations and automated systems utilization. Develop and implement the coordination and administering of training programs for new and established CSS automated systems. Develop and/or coordinate the development and presentation of specialized training. Conduct training as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E4 - E8 Compatible Military Assignments: 92A, 92G, 92Y, 92Z GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices.

Education
