About the Position: The ILSC is responsible for sustaining war fighting readiness and managing a large part of the Army's investment in war fighting capacity as integrators of nearly 3,000 weapon systems that form the core of the Army's war fighting capability.

Duties

Manage, supervise, and coordinate all Logistics Assistance Program (LAP) logistical activities for a wide customer base across a large area of responsibility. Provide the technical direction and leadership in performing supervisory duties including assigning work to subordinates based on priorities difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Determine LAP program goals and develops plans for the organization independently of or jointly with other LAD managers. Provide both general and specific advice to commanders of Major Army Units on TACOM LCMC equipment-related logistics issues

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure (OGE 450) and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position is subject to a mobility or rotation agreement as a condition of employment. You will be required to relocate based on management needs for the duration of employment in this or successor positions.
  • In the event of a crisis situation or wartime, you must continue to perform the duties and requirements of the position to ensure the success of combat operations or to support essential systems subsequent to mobilization or an evacuation order.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
  • If required, the employee will receive a series of anthrax vaccine immunizations to include annual boosters. Failure to receive the vaccine may result in removal from the position or federal service.
  • You will occupy a position that is considered essential to support of DA's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization.
  • The mobility agreement in appendix B (AMC Form 2884-R) will be used in lieu of DD Form 2365 (DOD Civilian Employee Overseas EE Position Agreement) as a standardized agreement throughout the LAP to ensure uniformity.
  • The mobility agreement includes the draw and wear of the Army Combat Uniform (ACUs)/Battle Dress Uniform (BDUs)/Desert Camouflage Uniforms (DCUs), Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment (OCIE), and/or Chemical Defense Equipment (CDE).
  • Emergency Essential personnel assigned to the Logistic Assistance Mobility Program may be retained in, or deployed to, hostile areas. Emergency essential employees may be subject to separation from federal service for failure to meet this condition.
  • Assignment to the AMC Logistic Assistance Mobility Program requires the employee to meet the physical requirements before employment and on an annual basis IAW AMC-R 700-19 Appendix D.
  • Employees assigned to LAP emergency essential positions may be required to fly in military aircraft as part of their duties during mobilization, deployments or major field exercises.
  • Required to pass a rigorous physical that includes the following: Be emotional and mentally able; have correctable vision to 20/30 in either eye. FAR vision correctable to 20/40 in either eye.
  • Position requires depth perception and the ability to distinguish basic colors. Position requires passing a pulmonary function test and respiratory test. Incumbent cannot be insulin dependent.
  • Anthrax shots may be required for certain theaters. Incumbent cannot be continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) dependent in certain theaters.

The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 or GS-11 equivalent.
