About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Maintenance Division, at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Duties

Serve as the Maintenance Officer at a complex multi-mission installation, providing the full range of maintenance operations and services. Develop policies and plans to accomplish a multitude of maintenance programs by government civilians, contractors, military units, or depot activities. Maintain oversight of the installation-level maintenance mission and equipment maintenance support for tenant, military, and training organizations Provide management and oversight of the Logistics Readiness Center maintenance mission and support of equipment for tenant, military, and training organizations at the installation. Manage Government Purchase Card (GPC) controls; monitor and recommend action pertaining to Maintenance Blanket Purchase Agreements; and approve procurement of special tools and programs. Perform a variety of personnel and position management responsibilities including planning, organizing, assigning, reviewing, and coordinating work. Monitor contractor business performance with regard to the installation maintenance mission in accordance with the contract Performance Work Statement (PWS). Develop maintenance and logistics technical and work specifications for contracts to be awarded for maintenance functions. Render guidance on problems related to maintenance activities, recommending improvement of preventive maintenance, clarifying maintenance policies, arranging instruction and inspection, and determining maintenance support requirements. Develop cost comparison studies on all functions of maintenance-type services performed by the contractor to determine if the contractor is performing optimally.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5500-7-R.
  • This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.
  • The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
  • In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
