About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, at Fort Stewart, Georgia
Duties
Formulate, evaluate, and coordinate logistics plans and policies.
Analyze mission objectives to determine the kind and extent of support required; and coordinate with functional representatives to ensure adequate manpower, supplies, equipment and services meet specific requirements.
Coordinate with brigade planners and key staff elements in the development and execution of specific tasks to ensure battalion support is part of the brigade's theater support mission.
During deployments and exercises, measure effectiveness and efficiencies to ensure operations meet stated objectives.
Monitor deployment, exercises, mobilizations, readiness, policy, and procedures; and implement Army directives and operational plans.
Participate in all exercise planning conferences and publishes after action reviews/reports.
Develop and carry out long-range logistics plans and specific projects to accomplish local civilian and military training and development.
Provide advice to management officials on training and development matters.
Monitor and track training requirements and maintain updates in a battalion tasker database; and plan, report, and evaluate training requirements.
Develop and maintain Emergency Operation Center (EOC) procedures to encompass sustaining current essential operations, and collect information for the commander and senior staff members.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier e - Secret clearance.
- In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.
- In the event of a crisis situation or wartime, the incumbent must continue to perform the duties and requirements of the position to ensure the success of combat operations or to support combat essential systems.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This is a deployable Department of the Army Civilian position. As such, incumbent must pass receive and maintain up-to-date required immunization for the overseas or deployed location.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time which may also include six months in duration or longer in CONUS or OCONUS in austere locations.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain an official passport.
- This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete on-line computer based training and residential deployment training, as applicable.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is subject to a mobility or rotation agreement as a condition of employment. You will be required to relocate based on management needs for the duration of employment in this or successor positions.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning and/or monitoring training requirements for personnel; 2) Conducting analysis of logistics facets pertaining to contingency, emergency, and/or mobilization plans and/or operations; -AND- 3) Resolving logistics problems and/or issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
