Duties
Serves as a Generalist in the Substance Abuse Program Section, Behavioral Programs, Marine and Family Programs Division, Manpower and Reserve Affairs Department, Headquarters Marine Corps. Incumbent works in collaboration with Substance Abuse Program (SAP) clinical and prevention subsections to provide technical management knowledge in support of substance abuse clinical and prevention matters throughout the Marine Corps SAP. Incumbent assists in the development of long-range program plans, objectives, and policies. Incumbent assists in the vertical and horizontal integration of policies and products to produce effective and efficient services.

Qualifications
Master's Degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy, with 2 years¿ post graduate experience in the Substance Abuse Treatment field. Must be licensed at the independent practice level as a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Counselor. Must be certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor meeting the standards set by the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) or approved state equivalent Substance Use Disorder certification. If granted a certification waiver upon hire, must be able to obtain certification within two (2) years of hire date.Experience that demonstrates knowledge of the principle and practices in the field of substance abuse use and its impact on the social fabric of families, military organization and communities. Awareness of how the substance use disorders and other mental health disorders determine delivery of non-medical clinical counseling across the Marine Corps. Ability to provide technical assistance to professionals in the field. Ability to act as a responsible point of contact to ensure development of the substance abuse prevention program to include: thorough understanding of operations and ability to guide field staff in operations; critical assessment and training evaluation processes and procedures; and development and implementation of training curricula that provides specific and measurable learning objectives. Must work collaboratively with SAP section, as well across other sections of Behavioral Programs Branch and Marine and Family Programs Division to ensure effective, inclusive, and consistent programming, messaging, and policy development.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Power Point, Outlook, Excel, and Word.Telework: Eligible for incremental telework as determined by MF policy.
