About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist for the Joint Activities located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Serves as subject matter expert for execution of air transportation, aerial delivery and services to move troops and equipment.
Responsible for planning, directing, controlling and coordinating the development of transportation operating procedures and guidance in accordance with DOD directives.
Develops and manages the execution of air movement plans during operations and exercises.
Develops air movement table to meet mission requirements for the movement of personnel and equipment.
Responsible for developing transportation and logistical plans for training and real-world operations.
Serves as the focal point for aircraft transportation matters and related activities.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI access for the duration of employment.
- IAW change 3 to AR-600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, this position is subject to a pre-employment urinalysis screening, and random testing thereafter.
- This position is Deployable and may travel 30% or more to OCONUS locations. A physical is REQUIRED as a condition of employment prior to EOD and as needed, thereafter. Immunizations are required for the deployed location.
- Must be willing to submit to Counterintelligence Polygraph if required.
- This position has been designated “Weather Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work to support the mission operations.
- This position is designated as mission essential, consistent with the criteria described in DoD instruction (DoDI) 3020.42.
- May be subjected to short notice recall. Must reside within 50-mile radius of duty location.
- A pre-employment deployable physical is required.
- A one year probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating the development of transportation for logistical assessment; managing requirements for transportation of personnel and/or equipment; developing transportation and logistical plans for missions; and managing the execution of movement plans during operations and exercises. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
