The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a cybersecurity specialist, guidance subject matter expert, and technical lead for cybersecurity program execution over Sensors Directorate information technology (IT) domains.
Duties
DO-2210-02
Interfaces with Sensors Directorate personnel to ensure a hardened cybersecurity posture to maintain compliance with applicable IT and communication laws and regulations and protect the Directorate's research data.
Implements cybersecurity programs, policies, guidance, and procedures for secure configuration management, hardware and software accountability, access control, media accountability and control, vulnerability management, and incident response reporting.
Facilitates the system authorization process to ensure organization systems, enclaves, and flight tests comply with Federal, DoD, AF, and AFRL IT management requirements. Develops mitigation strategies and procedures to reduce risk to acceptable levels and maintain cyber resiliency of supported systems.
Facilitates inclusion of cybersecurity requirements and considerations within acquisition efforts. Provides guidance and support for event planning and execution and develops client-specific risk management implementation plans.
Provides expert-level cybersecurity technical training and advice to organizational personnel. Keeps abreast of advancements and trends within the IT domain and similarly rapidly changing policies to be able to advise management on future needs to support system execution. Determines controls necessary to ensure users operate, maintain, and dispose of information systems according to the current policy and procedures.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions,for Information Technology Management Series, 2210 (Alternative A). There are no Group Coverage Qualification Standards for this series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year or will have one year within 120 days of the closing of this announcement at the next lower grade, GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience with DoD and Air Force Cybersecurity guidance and or managing and reporting on Air Force programs, ensuring compliance with IT laws and safeguarding research data through policy implementation. You also must have experience based on the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
