You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER in the DIVERS DIVISION (Code 970) of SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC.

Duties

You will serve as liaisons with other SERMC departments to support fluctuating workload requirements through reallocation of resources. You will evaluate other options to offset surge workload, such as engaging external government agency divers and navy reservist divers. You will serve as Dive Locker property custodian for procurements to include several high value assets pertaining to SERMC capabilities and readiness. You will determine the availability of resources to accomplish tasking. You will identify developmental and training needs of employees. You will provide input to the chain of command for individual and group awards. You will be responsible for command continuity on all Dive Operation Inspections.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment medical examination as a condition of employment.
  • You will be first class diver qualified in accordance with existing Navy standards and maintain annual first class diving qualifications.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing technical and contractual management serves for all Dive Operations Experience reviewing and screens incoming work requests for completeness and applicability. Experience planning work to be accomplished including setting priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work. Experience collaborating with heads of other units to negotiate and/or coordinate work-related changes affecting other units. Experience interpreting of higher authority policy to making decisions on problems presented to the Dive Locker.
