You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the SOUTHEAST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER, PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC.

Duties

You will plan, organize, coordinate, supervise, and direct the work of approximately 503 personnel through subordinate supervisors. You will be the principal consultant and advisor on all matters related to the efficient operation and management of the Production Department. You will exercise the full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing work of the subordinate staff. You will assure implementation of the Production Department goals and objectives and directs the overall management of assigned programs. You will ensure departmental goals are aligned to the Command Strategic Plan. You will ensure development of policy and functional guidance, and assure integration and coordination of programs. You will allocate funds, personnel resources, and assign responsibilities to subordinate supervisors ensuring they perform in accordance with these responsibilities. You will plan, assign and review work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, prepare schedules for completion of work, and request overtime, when needed. You will identify developmental and training needs of employees and make provisions for such development and training which may include consulting with training specialists.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying techniques of engineering and the properties, operation, and limitations of engineering systems, processes, structures, machinery devices, and materials to evaluate testing trends and new technological developments. Experience managing modern maintenance programs for engines, corrosion control, electronics, weapons, and machines. In addition thorough understanding of the Command organizational structure, mission, programs, and management policies. Incumbent must have sufficient experience exercising the full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing work of the subordinate staff. Minimum of 3 years managing people in a supervisory role. Strong oral/written communication skills and experience communicating professionally at the senior executive level. Expert knowledge and experience executing intermediate level surface ship maintenance processes and procedures. Expert knowledge of corrective and preventive maintenance procedures for engines, corrosion control, electronics, weapons, and machines and other related engineering disciplines. Mastery of and skill in modern maintenance management techniques.
