Duties
Makes recommendations on best practices to improve predictive analytics, data sampling, data warehousing processes, and other uses of advanced analytics and information technology.
Identifies trends, correlations, and causations within large datasets to provide a synopsis of emerging trends, challenges, and recommendations for change.
Develops and implements dynamic data visualizations and interactive reporting to provide meaningful insight from the data (such as dashboards, scorecards, and graphs).
Utilizes expert knowledge of finance and accounting processes, regulations, and systems to assess and improve upon the reliability, usability, and relevance of the data housed in DFAS systems.
Coordinates metrics and other financial issues with executive management, OUSD management, DFAS Internal Review, Strategic Business Management, and the audit community.
May provide support to the Operational Review Plan by establishing and coordinating operational review schedules across DFAS Operations.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: Collecting, measuring, analyzing, and reporting financial management data; developing and implementing dynamic data visualizations and interactive reporting; identifying areas for new content based on the needs of the organization; and supporting larger enterprise management initiatives.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
