You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Force Protection Division of NAVBASE SAN DIEGO SEC DET.

Duties

You will analyze existing Antiterrorism/Force Protection plans to recommend new policy and counter measures. You will conduct Physical Security and crime prevention surveys as directed by managers and senior staff. You will coordinate the command's security awareness and education program for command personnel. You will conduct vulnerability assessments to confirm sufficient protection (e.g. property, information, material) for the organization.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing threat assessments for personnel and assets which have anti-terrorism responsibilities; 2) Updating plans, manuals, and instructions to provide recommendations regarding changes to security specifications; 3) Conducting inspections of mission essential vulnerable assets, arms, ammunition, and explosive storage facilities and critical infrastructure; 4) Conducting classroom, formal, and informal training on crime prevention and physical security awareness programs; 5) Serving as a Loss Prevention Technical Specialist/ Security Advisor for the installation during meetings. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR
Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
