You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST (LEARNING STANDARDS OFFICER) for the Advanced Training Command (ATC) Detachment Fort Story of ATCNAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE CTR CORONADO.

Duties

You will develop, complete, independent, training materials for special operations professional development courses that support technical qualification of NSW Force operators. You will prepare training materials and supporting instructor and student guides. You will review and validate the quality of assigned courses and course ware through staff assistance visits to training sites, review of evaluation questionnaires, and analysis of available data. You will ensure training is performance-oriented and responsive to the needs of the operational force. You will design instructional courses and materials for complete full-length course. You will provide in-service training to military and civilian instructor staffs for instructor development IAW NSW policies. You will organize or participats in Master Training Specialist (MTS) workshops consisting of MTS experts to determine the applicable certification standards have been achieved.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing, evaluating or preparing training materials (ie. Instructor and student guides) for special operations professional development courses that support technical qualification of NSW Force operators; and provides in-service training, coaching, and mentorship to military and civilian staff instructors as part of instructor qualification and professional development and Master Training Specialist programs. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

OR

Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a such a degree

OR

LL.M. that is related to this position being filled.

OR

Combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
