You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the Training Department of EXPLSV ORD DISP GROUP TWO.

Duties

You will develop procedures, criteria and standards for use in evaluating training and educational programs. You will schedule resident and on-site EODLC training courses, in addition to training and development of training specialists. You will provide recommendations to correct deficiencies and update training materials as required. You will provide guidance on matters involving the training, educational, professional and staff development programs. You will secure the cooperation of multiple EOD units in maintaining and improving training while evaluating the latest developments and future trends. You will assist in establishing and carrying out the fiscal year curriculum program objectives.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Graduate of the Navy Instructor Training (IT) course (A-012-0077A), or Navy Basic or Journeyman Training course (A-012-0077), Army It Course (131-ITC-1) or the Air Force IT Course (E3 AIR3S200 069).
  • Master Training Specialist or other services equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

To qualify for the TRAINING SPECIALIST, GS-1712-12, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience planning, developing, coordinating and evaluating Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Force training programs. Experience as an advisor to the GRU N7 staff in the planning, development, training, facilitation, and evaluation of training and education programs. Experience creating a performance-based leadership and professional development program that prepares EOD Force personnel to more effectively lead and manage the full spectrum of Navy EOD and diving missions. Experience serving as an advisor to Curriculum Control Authority to ensure standardization across EODGRU ONE and TWO. Experience analyzing EODLC manpower requirements and reviews and recommending changes to standard operating procedures. Experience developing and facilitating complex adult training and educational programs. Experience evaluating training policies, procedures, curricula, instructional methods and techniques used in training courses. Experience determining quality of instruction, adequacy and utilization of training aids and devices, equipment, and facilities used to deliver training courses.
