Duties

You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (N3) in the EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL TRAINING AND EVALUATION UNIT TWO (EODTEU TWO) at JOINT EXPEDITIONARY BASE LITTLE CREEK-FORT STORY (JEBLC-FS). You will be the command expert on training policy and plans and provide instruction and guidance to command Divisions and Departments on curriculum standards and course development. You will interface with the Curriculum Control Authority (CCA} to ensure that training courses support established training and qualification requirements. You will ensure courses and training products are properly updated to provide maximum combat effectiveness, readiness, and cost-capture for baseline budgeting and optimal resource management. You will develop and maintains data collection instruments (interviews, instructor evaluations, student critiques, checklists). You will design EODTEU TWO Basic and Advanced Training Courses of Instruction (COI) and related materials for complete full-length courses.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience utilizing conventional and innovative training methods, techniques, and tools to design and develop training courses. *Experience drafting, editing, and submitting supporting documentation for training and exercise objectives. *Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving training safety issues. *Experience utilizing Authoring Instruction Materials (AIM II) and Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Resource System (CETARS) programs. General Experience (for GS-5 positions):
Experience that provided evidence of the ability to instruct students in the use of equipment, principles, or practices of the subject or occupation. This experience may have been gained as a teacher or instructor; in on-the-job supervision or instruction of subordinates or fellow workers; or in work involving application of the principles, practices, and techniques of the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled.

Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:

  • Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
  • Supervising or administering a training program.
  • Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
  • Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
