Duties
You will support programs for the Inspection, Testing, Maintenance/Sustainment (ITM/ST) of Fire Protection Systems (FPS).
You will participate in the investigation of repeated equipment failure due to improper maintenance, installation, age or type of equipment.
You will coordinate activities that cross program or technical areas to produce synergistic benefits to damage control and fire recoverability program and initiatives.
You will advise technical engineers to steer the development of solutions for irregularities within maintenance or modernization projects or programs.
You will write reports, emergency service work authorizations and other maintenance records to recommend the frequency and scope of regularly scheduled maintenance inspections.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver`s license.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
For the GS-10: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Supporting the collection and analyzation of program metrics;
Exercising judgment to resolve common work problems and deviations; and
Reviewing FPS maintenance contracts to determine ITM/ST actions that comply with local, State, and Federal standards; NFPA and ICC codes and standard industry practices.
For the GS-9: : Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-8 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
