About the Position: This position serves as an Executive Assistant DE-0301-03 in the Army Futures Command (AFC), HQ Office of the Chief of Staff (COS) G 4/9, located in Austin Texas. Duties
Provide independent advice and recommendations on procedures, policies, and staff coordination requirements.
Analyze administrative functions and determine the need for new/revised policies.
Develop project plans based on priorities, funding, and AFC mission objectives.
Responsible for planning actions, coordinating with staff elements, and conducting all phases of administrative support.
Formulate and review policies and procedures relating to directorate management, operations and administration.
Evaluates completed actions for adequacy of subject matter content ensuring response compliance with request, clarity of information, logic, coordination, and writing style.
Coordinate all aspects of official travel plans to include funding, itineraries/agendas, ground and air transportation requirements, and lodging through Defense Travel System.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires business travel (TDY) to other duty locations 10% of the time.
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level.
- This position may require a One year trial/probationary period.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1. Experience in planning and task management under a large staff or headquarters with ability to draft staffing correspondence for memoranda, tasking orders, and official letters. 2. Coordinate all aspects of official travel plans, including funding, itineraries and lodging, utilizing government travel systems such as Defense Travel System (DTS). 3. Experience communicating orally and in writing, dealing with high-level officials both within and outside the DoD, Joint Commands, Congress, and to prepare materials for meetings, briefings, and working groups.
