Duties
Serves as the Director G-4/G9, U. S. Army Futures Command (AFC).
Responsible for various program areas having a direct impact on Internal Administration, Property Accountability, and Records Management.
Direct oversight of the sections within the Directorate, and provides guidance on the execution of support to the command.
Continually reviews and evaluates effectiveness of performance and quality of results of operations support functions through analysis of correspondence, reports, studies, and publications.
Advises leadership on problems regarding the relationship of the work of assigned areas to broader programs, and its impact on such programs.
Provides staff officials, and managers with advice and guidance on matters, such as: development of time-phased plans, guidelines, and direction for accomplishment of prescribed objectives
Monitors personnel actions to insure that those taken support the objectives and the overall plans of the AFC.
Provides staff assistance and establishes effective working relationships with commands to garner accurate and timely results to recurring and unique tasks ultimately resulting in the progress of AFC’s mission.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes; 1) Providing guidance in the planning and execution of support to the Command; 2) Providing guidance on operational perspectives such as support services for operations and logistics, strategic plans and programs, and facilities; 3) Supervising and leading military, civilian personnel and subordinate organizations to meet mission objectives; and 4) Providing expert staff advisory analysis to senior executive leadership for decision-making. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
