Duties
Serves the agency senior technical expert and practitioner with extensive knowledge of the design, creation, implementation, and management of a records and information management program.
Identifies and mitigates potential RIM risks, evaluating organizational risks, and identifying, developing, and implementing solutions.
Plan, organize, and coordinate with subject-matter-experts and other business areas to provide input for automated electronic information system development that supports compliance with records management directives and regulations.
Complete special projects as assigned by Records Officer, including digitization projects, records recovery, etc.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of staff action and correspondence packages, as action officer.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Top Secret Clearance is required for this position.
- Three year Probationary period may be required
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Overseeing records management rules, regulations and guidance promulgated by the National Archives and Records Administration; 2) creating, conducting and coordinating records management training; 3) utilizing software applications for electronic records management; AND 4) overseeing the disposition of records within automated systems such as M365 Records Management Compliance Center/Purview. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-3/GS-13).
