Duties

Serve as the Civilian Executive Officer (CXO) as the full assistant to the Commander, Army Futures Command Support Battalion. Chief of Staff over subordinate division chiefs - exercise full supervisory and managerial authority over all phases of the assigned missions of the organization Supervisory/managerial authority through subordinate supervisors and managers to the battalion of over 800 military, civilian personnel and contractors engaged in the administrative and the logistical support in 14 geographically separated locations. Supervise civilian and military personnel engaged in performing administrative, personnel, security, operations, logistics management, procurement, information management, and budgetary functions. Responsible for administration and execution of the battalion’s budget, and for effective control and utilization of fiscal resources within the major activities of the battalion. Coordinate and liaison actions with resource management officials of the AFC HQ and other appropriate DOD organizations to complete specific implementation responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Secret security clearance required.
  • Business travel (TDY) may be required up to 10% of the time.
  • A two year probationary (non-supervisory) period may be required if not already completed per 5 CFR guidance/criteria.
  • This position is supervisory and incumbent will be required to complete a one year supervisory probationary period if not previously completed per 5 CFR guidance.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsLeadershipOrganizational AwarenessPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
