About the Position: This position is with the National Guard Bureau, G-1. Resources Division, Arlington, VA. About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.

Duties

Prepare and edit narrative justifications for projected funding needs and ensures needs are documented in schedules and reports Review obligations and expenditure of funds and ensures that funds are allocated timely and obligated effectively to support approved programs. Initiate and maintain real time automated Financial Management System to track budget information for complete cycle from estimates through obligation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 cert is required within 24 months of start date.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes identifying sources, types, and methods of funds for assigned organizations and programs in such areas as GFEBS (General Fund Enterprise Business System, DTS (Defense Travel System), Program Management/COR (Contracting Officer's Representative) duties, budget execution; developing long range budgets by administering budget policies and regulations; analyzing financial and budgetary relationships to develop recommendations for budgetary actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-112) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationBudget ExecutionBudget Formulation, Justification, and Presentation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
