About the Position: TACOM is located at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan which is in Detroit's largest suburb located about 15 miles north of downtown. The area offers world-class museums, art galleries, concert halls, golf courses, several prestigious universities, and collegiate and professional athletic venues.

Duties

Serves as the senior Antiterrorism (AT)/Force Protection (FP) officer and subject matter expert (SME) responsible for the developing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the Command's AT/FP and protection security program. Assists in the development and implementation of an integrated protection and security policy. Evaluates the spectrum of threats (i.e., terrorism, military, electronic, intelligence, military, and criminal) and recommends appropriate security protection measures. Provides Counter small Unmanned Aircraft System (C-sUAS) oversight to TACOM assigned Depots/Arsenal/Centers, ensuring C-sUAS operations are integrated into Protection Plans. Develops and prioritizes the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and annual spend plans for all TACOM Protection Program assigned Management Decision Packages (MDEP). Represents TACOM on Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) level Protection Assessment Team for on-site inspections and assistance visits to subordinates to assess antiterrorism plans and measures.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A pre-employment and recurring comprehensive background investigation -
  • That includes, but is not limited to, contact with all references, employers, co-workers, personal associates, and a review of your driving record, credit history, criminal history, and military service are required.
  • Position requires a pre-employment drug test and annual testing thereafter.
  • Incumbent must obtain the following core SPeD Certification either: a) Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), b) Physical Security Certification (PSC), or c) Antiterrorism Credential (ATC) within the first two years of employment.
  • This position has a data analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for data analytics level 1 certification (DATACL1i - TACOM D and A Level 1 Certification) within 12 months of being placed on the position.
  • This position is designated as Key. For positions located within the Continental US (CONUS), the position cannot be vacated during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission
  • This position is mission essential.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% or less.
  • Must be able to obtain ATO Level II certification within their first two years of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain Physical Security Credentials within their first two years of employment.
  • Incumbent may be required to perform overtime based on mission requirement.
  • May be required to work during local or national emergency situations, such as severe weather, man-made disasters, attack on the United States, furlough, or Government-wide shut down.
  • Required to sign a Situational Telework agreement and, upon management determination, may be required to work from alternate locations.
  • May be assigned to work at TACOM offices on Detroit Arsenal, Selfridge Air National Guard Base, or a TACOM leased private facility within the Detroit Metro Area.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
