Duties

Performs as lead advisor, mentors, provides training and conducts quality assurance activities for junior Industrial Security Specialists. Responsible for executing the GVSC Tech Protect Program. Analyze multiple DoD, DA, AFC and DEVCOM directives, instructions, and regulations, as well as future Security Classification Guides (SCG), to coalesce the tech protect, disclosure, Operations Security (OPSEC) programs to develop comprehensive protection guidance to the GVSC S and Es. Develop and implement GVSC Tech Protect process and related guidance. Work with internal GVSC S and Es/partners on Tech Protect requirements, as well as serve as the GVSC representative on external higher headquarters working groups.

Requirements

  • This position requires a Non-Critical Sensitive Secret security clearance.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 10%.
  • This position requires a three-year probationary period.

DEVCOM-GVSC is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project. The DE-03 pay band is equivalent to the GS-12 step 1 to GS-13 step 10 level. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Identifying security program vulnerabilities and associated mitigation actions to stakeholders; 2) Conducting Security Reviews of contracts to ensure compliance with regulations; AND 3) Overseeing complex security violation investigations of government resources with contractors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DE-02 (GS-11 Equivalent).
