About the Position: Office of the Chief Information Officer, Army Enterprise Services Agency, Army Publishing Directorate, Publishing Division. Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Plan overall work operations, sets priorities, and establishes schedules of work completion.
Make decisions on work problems presented by subordinate branch chiefs.
Advise and assist Army proponents on policy pertaining to Army administrative and policy publications.
Directs the development of recommendations for the improvement of the Army publishing system.
Monitor the publishing production program to ensure that schedules, target dates, and milestones are met.
Make decisions and recommendations to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and/or economy of programs.
Monitor existing publications and criteria used for the preparation, production, control, and issue of publications.
Utilize current and future information technology solutions to improve the publishing process.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- You may be expected to travel 5% of the time for this position.
- One-year supervisory probationary period may be required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes manage publishing production program operations or personnel; provide advice or instruction to subordinate personnel in a production operation; and evaluate publishing programs to ensure procedural, policy, and regulatory compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
