About the Position: Serve as the First Army G35 / Future Operations Specialist (FUOPS) Deputy Division Chief and receives broad guidance from the FUOPS Director, Chief of Operations (G-3), Chief of Staff, the Deputy Commanding Generals (DCGs), and the Commanding General (CG).
Duties
Lead the development and review of plans, programs, policies, and procedures for the execution of activities that are the responsibility of FUOPS.
Conduct and monitor operational planning teams and working groups with higher, lower, and lateral echelons.
Evaluate and recommends alternative means of support for contingency missions by receiving, reviewing, consolidating, and analyzing input from all staff sections to develop a final product.
Advice and assistance on all matters concerning scope and content of the various plans, orders, and annexes.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel overnight away from home station, Temporary duty (TDY) for business up to 25%.
- Incumbent may be required to complete a One-Year probationary period.

Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Lead the development and review of plans, programs, policies, and procedures for the execution of operational activities; 2) apply insight, and creativity in the development of contingency plans and orders for the command, in support of those plans published by higher headquarters for general war, various operational contingencies, and special situations. 3) Develop plans and orders required to support the command's missions and objective. 4) Review overall program effectiveness, achievement of command objectives, and soundness of judgment exercised.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
