Duties
You will provide decision makers with a sound, scientific, and quantitative or qualitative basis for making decisions on the particular military problems being addressed.
You will will provide analysis support to efforts as designated by the Department Head, and participate in and independently work to provide primary analysis support for naval fleet-level operations.
You will will identify appropriate research approaches regarding a military challenge (i.e., problem statement) and associated hypotheses.
You will apply knowledge of current developments in operations research and modeling and simulation applications.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying an expertise in mathematical tools and models, computer simulation, statistical sampling, risk analysis, evaluation techniques, and decision theory to conduct analysis.
Experience applying knowledge of naval war games, modeling and simulation, fleet experimentation, lessons learned, concept, and doctrine development processes.
Experience applying an expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to solve problems and research questions, and knowledge of when to use each.
Experience applying an expertise in various forms of project planning and insight to know when to use appropriate project planning approaches.

Education
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
