About the Position: Works under the limited supervision of the Department Head, Operating Management Department. As tasked by the Department Head, the employee independently plans and executes facility management functions and mission setting priorities; making decisions, taking actions, and resolving most conflicts that arise with little or no involvement by the supervisor. Assists in the coordination and staffing of projects with other divisions.

Duties

Assist in the planning of programs for the operation, maintenance, repair and improvement of government facilities and property. Evaluate program effectiveness through inspections and management improvement studies. Assist in the computation of material requirements maintenance of financial inventory, accounting systems, acquisition, quality control, and timelines of facilities projects. Assist in evaluating the condition of all facility components, plants, buildings, and grounds. Assist in monitoring the budget expenditures in order to make recommendations as appropriate to shift resources to meet sudden changes. Assist in establishing policies, procedures, standards, goals guided the area of facility management.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
  • Required to carry a command duty Cell phones and can be on call 24x7x365
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
