The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a training instructor, responsible for the direct delivery of instruction and training services of a non-professional nature in the area of personnel policies and practices, computer application, management, leadership and administration.
Duties
Conducts training courses. Secures classroom space and provides input for announcement of upcoming classes.
Improves and updates education and training materials.
Reviews training source material. Performs duties associated with developing, revising, maintaining, and/or instructing training courses.
Monitors and evaluates student progress in courses.

Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

Experience
General Experience (for GS-5 positions): Experience that provided evidence of the ability to instruct students in the use of equipment, principles, or practices of the subject or occupation. This experience may have been gained as a teacher or instructor; in on-the-job supervision or instruction of subordinates or fellow workers; or in work involving application of the principles, practices, and techniques of the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled.
Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
Supervising or administering a training program.
Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of theory, principle, and techniques of education and training instruction and delivery for military and civilian training programs in both classroom and virtual modalities.
Knowledge of the methods, principles, practices, and programs related to instructional system development, instructional techniques, and training resources, as well as the principles, techniques, and objectives of test and measurement.
Knowledge of the processes, methodologies, personnel, equipment, scripting, and related requirements involved in producing audiovisual productions, developing production schedules, coordinating staff activities, and making administrative and logistical arrangements.
Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and practices of audiovisual production and related broadcasting and distance learning equipment to independently perform recurring assignments.
Skill in developing course materials and presenting formal and informal courses and briefings.
Ability to interpret technical data and other primary source material to prepare training materials. For example, employee must be able to interpret OPM, DoD, Air Force, and AFMC operating instructions, policy letters, and other guidance to develop training materials.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing at every leadership level.
Ability to evaluate course content and effectiveness and make recommendations for change if required.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
