The primary purpose of this position is to manage student registration and reporting, data analysis, computer systems operations and other technical registrar and academic administration functions; serve as POC and technical authority for the school's local master schedule, and provide support for local and on-site classroom and resource allocation/control.
Duties
Performs duties and responsibilities as the Scheduler for an Air Force Institute of Technology School which includes providing subject matter expertise and extensive development and documentation of annual and weekly education schedules and the revisions/changes of those schedules.
Manages and Schedules School Facilities, Classrooms, Equipment, and SharePoint Pages.
Manages Lodging and Transportation Scheduling Duties.
Manages and Provides Educational Program Technical Information.
Government Purchase Card Approving Official, responsible for ensuring that all purchases made by the Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder(s) are appropriate and the charges are accurate

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Individual Occupational Requirements for Training Instruction Series, 1712 and the Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include experience in managing college-level enrollment and registration processes, performing academic administration support and/or scheduling for college level education programs, and providing educational administration support to college level students and classes. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
OR
EDUCATION: a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education with a major study in education or a field directly related to the position that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of this position. Only graduate level experience in excess of two years may be used to qualify based on a combination of education and experience. Note: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Extensive knowledge of the organization and educational mission of the School of Systems and Logistics organizations serviced, key personnel, and specific School/office practices/procedures to perform internal educational support activities and LS processes for student registration and reporting procedures to ensure that student information is accurately collected, compiled, and properly documented.
2. Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions. General mathematical ability and practical knowledge of computer applications, data sources, data flow, automated database management with emphasis on the ability to interact with appropriate database(s} to provide necessary outputs for use by using clients, course directors, and administrators for the maintenance and continuing product improvement Proficient/fully trained in all facets of learning management systems, Student Information Systems. Oracle Training Administration (OTA), ACQ/Now and others.
3. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups outside immediate work unit. Ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully and diplomatically with a variety of people at all levels in pressure situations.
4. Ability to plan and organize work.
5. Ability to adapt to new or evolving work requirements.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
