Duties
Leads COMSATCOM acquisition efforts in the establishment of COMSATCOM contracts.
Plans, designs and conducts studies and analyses of complex plans, programs and projects to identify and propose solutions to management problems in the area of service acquisitions and management.
Provides authoritative advice and assistance to program and project personnel during the initial planning phases of assigned programs to ensure proper consideration of management factors as well as technical factors involved in successful programs.
Prepares and presents briefings and reports to high level managers within DISA, Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Staff (JS), Combatant Commanders (COCOMS), and other DoD components.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.

- OGE-450 Financial Disclosure Statement Required.
- Must obtain Acquisition certification in the Program Management Functional Area.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants must possess:
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as experience planning, designing, and conducting studies and/or analyses of plans, programs and projects related to establishing contracts, providing advice and assistance to stakeholders and preparing and presenting briefings and/or reports to management.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
