You will serve as a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Food Service Division (N43) in the Logistics Directorate (N4) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.

Duties

You will review MSC, DOD and Navy food service regulations and procedures to ensure compatibility of proposed procedural changes. Reviews MSC food service shipboard monthly financial records using statistical sampling methods. You will review and recommend changes to the professional training courses, evaluates course instruction, ensures course outlines and instructor guides are updated IAW changes in policies/procedures. You will conduct the initial evaluations of the MSC Food Service Award Competition and ensuring only those food service operations that are outstanding are nominated. You will coordinate ship-monitoring activities with the MSC Fleet Liaison. Evaluates team member for shipboard inspections and monitoring programs as required. You will serve as the Technical Point of Contact in the execution of Subsistence Prime Vendor (SPV) contract(s). Provides procedural guidance to customers on food stock order processing under the scope and terms of the contract. You will monitor SPV contract compliance in the areas of quality control, percentages of not-in­ stock (NIS), responsiveness, and delivery performance

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-13 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience working in Department of Defense, Naval Supply System and COMSC policies and procedures. Must include an understanding of Navy Fleet Commanders, Type Commanders, Operational Organizations, USTRANSCOM & component commands, and their associated responsibilities. Experience using shipboard Food Service Management (FSM) software system. Experience managing cycle menu planning, food preparation, sanitation presentation, records management, storage equipment operation, and maintenance. Experience assuring loads, procurement, foodservice production operation, and inventory management. Experience handling marine products and commercial vendors sufficient to recommend to ships and the maintenance execution staff. Experience auditing meal cost and reimbursable funding aboard CIVMAR-Manned Ships to ensure funding is being returned to the appropriate class manager/program.
