About the Position: Serves as a Case Analyst performing a wide range of military record, financial, and medical analytic functions within the Army Board for Correction of Military Records.
Duties
Review and analyze applications by employing a range of fact-finding and analyze applications and procedures to properly interpret varied and complex factual situations pertaining to military human resources.
Provide thorough, complete, neutral written materials to address a large body of disputed interrelated facts that must be reconstructed from evidence.
Utilize expert communication skills to ensure that internal and external communications are sound, factual, logical, neutral in tone, and properly convey facts and details in a logical and comprehensive format.
Write a comprehensive summary of the pertinent facts incorporating therein any legal interpretations received.
Confer with key stakeholders across both internal divisions and external agencies prior to cases being moved to any Board for final processing in order to narrow or clarify any issues involved.
Review and assist in the processing of taskings which request personnel, legal, finance, and medical advisory opinions in support of cases seen by any of the twelve administrative boards.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes researching and interpreting military laws, statues, regulations, procedures, or policies; interpreting legal aspects of a case to provide recommendations to leadership; and providing clear and concise oral and written communication on all aspects of military human resources functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
