You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) of NAVSUP BUSINESS SYSTEMS CENTER.

Duties

You will provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical Information Technology (IT) issues. You will coordinate and monitor applicable implementation and compliance reporting as necessary. You will provide technical expertise facilitating application of established cybersecurity policies, best practices and interpretation of NAVSUP/Navy/DOD policy. You will serve as an IA Specialist.

• This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 722 level advanced within 12 months of appointment.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. 1) Developing an Information Assurance (IA) program to ensure that all systems and networks are functional and secure in accordance with established policies; 2) Coordinating and planning Information Assurance (IA) policies and procedures for an organization; 3) Establishing information ownership responsibilities, such as accountability, access approvals, and special handling requirements, for an Information System; 4) Researching technical matters regarding IA topics and computer science methods in support of the Command's supported activities; 5) Applying knowledge and application of project control and monitoring techniques, quality assurance techniques and standards, and system documentation standards to assure the completeness and accuracy of the work products developed.
