About the Position: This position is located with the Plans and Operations Division, The Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS) on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
Duties
Incumbent coordinates and reviews the actions of several Directorates and special staff offices. Responsibilities encompass local operations at JBLM and sub-installations.
Review OPORDs, FRAGOs, taskers from higher headquarters, coordination of deployment and readiness exercises by other headquarters; operational discussions with Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard.
Responsible for Watch Office Operations which synchronizes and coordinates all current operation in support of the JBLM Senior Mission Commander and Garrison Commander.
Manage a Emergency Operations Center capable of full operations within two hours of an emergency.
Manage the I Corps and JBLM Special Category message system.
Implement pre-determined operational security procedures to ensure national security is not compromised.
Coordinating a wide range of activities, identifying problems and developing project objectives and milestones.
Develop plans, analyze and resolve problems contributing to operational readiness.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent of this position must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
- This position is designated as Key Essential and Mission Essential.
- This position requires approximately 15% Temporary Duty.
- This position requires the incumbent to have or able to obtain and maintain a Valid State Driver's license.
- This position requires a Supervisory Probationary Period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing strategic planning and managing mobilization programs; developing Defense and Emergency Operations plans and policies; Providing analysis on Military Operations and Plans Functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
