You will serve as a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHICIAN in the Vertical Launching System (VLS) / Combat Systems (CS) Alignment Branch C295, Combat Systems (Weapons) Division Code 290, Engineering Department Code 200, Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You will serve as team leader composed of no fewer than nine General Schedule Technicians (or contractor equivalents).
You will ensure that MARMC's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.
You will articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.
You will provide technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports or similar problems.
You will provide technical assistance on less urgent but complex technical problems beyond the capability of forces afloat, intermediate maintenance activities, or repair activities to diagnose and correct.
You will perform special engineering analyses and studies in support of NA VSEA for the purpose of developing or evaluating improvements in design, maintenance procedures, material, etc.
You will prepare technical reports (and formal correspondence when required) identifying significant aspects of the problems, their causes, and corrections applied.
You will lead functional checkouts, tests, and inspections of major systems.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification (CPR) certification.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as:
Experience mastering engineering principles, practices, and theories.
Experience in engineering and training.
Experience with complex problems encountered in Fleet Technical Support/Field Service Engineering Assignments.
Experience with a wide variety of systems, subsystems, components and associated equipment.
A Certified VLS Test Director (TD) is desirable.
