About the Position: This position is located with the Training Division, The Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS) on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Duties

Analyze and evaluate methods, training impact and program effectiveness for the improvement of technical performance and directs contribution to the Unit training experience, relevant military tasks. Develop milestones for continuous evaluation of virtual training simulations and model policies and procedures. Utilizes technical and functional knowledge of all aspects of Army operations, in conjunction with keeping abreast of all Army training, simulations, C4I, and automation projects to identify and define virtual simulation utilization requirements. Serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) or Technical Oversight Representative (TOR) for US government contracts involving operation and maintenance of virtual simulations and facilities fielded to JBLM. Develop annual or longer work plans for contractors and subordinate personnel assigned. Supervises civilian and military employees performing such duties as training instruction, simulator operation, supply management, and other administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
