About the Position: This position is located in at Evans Army Community Hospital duty location Fort Carson, CO.

Duties

Conducts data analysis on health care services utilization to identify diagnosis and provider patterns for trend identification to the service chiefs. Advises practice leadership on issues affecting quality, safety, and customer service at the practice level. Manages the day-to-day operations of the practice. Assists in the development and implementation of effective patient care systems. Contributes to the development and implementation of standard policies and procedures. Manages budget and persosnnel planning.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing the day-to-day operations of health care delivery services; assisting with modifications/improvements of clinic policies and procedures; and planning budget and personnel staffing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Health Systems AnalysisHealth Systems Data ManagementHealthcare Operations Administration Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
