About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Surgery at at Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Serve as principal administrator and advisor to the Primary Military Program Managing Operative Services Director (PMOSD) and the Deputy Commander for Clinical Services (DCCS). Establish performance standards and evaluates employee's performance; Determine and plans work to be accomplished by employees. Coordinate, establish, and execute budget plans and establish financial priorities for the Department of Surgery. Initiate, develop, plan, implement, evaluate, and monitor the utilization of health care policies, procedures, systems, and services to ensure they are beneficial and cost-effective. Monitors clinical, business, and quality activities by collaborating with the Clinical Operations, Resource Management, and Quality Assurance.

• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes administrating, managing or supervising business activities within a health care facility and Surgical Services; managing and executing the surgical budget; providing technical and administrative supervision, assigning work, developing performance standards and evaluating performance; and coordinating with Quality Assurance Department to ensure surgical quality meets applicable standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
